Konrad & Partners is delighted to announce that our partner Dr Christian Konrad and associate Peter Rižnik will participate at the Joint UNCITRAL – LAC Conference on Dispute Settlement, which will be held on 20th of March 2018 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia in Ljubljana. The conference will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the 1958 New York Convention as well as the ninetieth anniversary of the Ljubljana Arbitration Centre. This year’s topic of the conference is “Turning Shadow into Light”.
Dr Konrad will moderate the roundtable on the topic of “Role of arbitral tribunals in combatting economic crime in international arbitration”, which aims at discussing the role of arbitral tribunals in identifying criminal activities such as bid-rigging, money laundering and corruption, evidence manipulation as well as proposing solutions for combatting economic crime.
Peter Rižnik will moderate the roundtable on “Enforcing foreign arbitral awards – country reports”, during which practitioners from Albania, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Switzerland will present the practice and relevant case law of the local courts in applying the New York Convention.
