The Legal Framework for Arbitration in Austria

General Information

  • UNCITRAL Model-Law based: Yes.
  • Legal Provisions: Sections 577-618 of the Austrian Code of Civil Procedure (ZPO) which replaced the old arbitration law in 2013 (SchiedsR√ĄG 2013). Their latest revision in 2013 instituted the Austrian Supreme Court as the first and final instance in almost all arbitration-related matters.
